Loops and Braids

I adore long hair, and coming up with elaborate things to do with it, even if I don't do it on myself that often. one of my favorite things is crisscrossing braids on the top of the head, and here's a fine example:


It appears that what I did was make a number of braids at the back of the head, two of which I simply wrapped around the head, two of which I crisscrossed over the top of the head several times pinning the little loops in place, and the rest of which I wound back and forth in a figure eight at the back of the head. I left a small section of hair hanging down in the back coming out from under the figure eight of braids.

Green and Black, Lace and Tassles

I just love lace and tassles!

What I'm Wearing:
Black puffed sleve Mock-turtleneck - store called "Gossip"
Green tank top with lace trim at the neckline - unknown store
Green blouse with lace yoke-capsleve thingy - unknown store
Short underbust corset turned inside out so that only the black lining shows - bought at a renfair
Black crochetted lace shawl worn as a skirt - bought at a fair
Green silky double circle skirt - I made
Necklaces with olive green teardrop pendant - I made

For my hair:
I split my hair into two parts down the middle
I tied each one in a knot on top of my head
I twisted the tailes of hair coming out of the knotts and wound them around each knot forming two buns which I clipped in place with 'butterfly' clips
I took a large tassle meant for holding back curtains and placed the tassle between the two buns and wrapped the two cord loops of the tassle around the two buns.
